Horatio has a new birthday

Just days after announcing to the world that Something Rotten would come out in the Spring of 2008, I got word that Dial would like to move the release date UP to Fall 2007! This is great news.
I love that I'll have a book come out a little over a year after Samurai. Fall is also the premier season for hardbacks to come out, which means stores like Borders will give it more attention than Samurai Shortstop received coming out in spring. The blessing is also a curse, of course, because all the big name author books come out in the fall, and it could be easy for Something Rotten to get lost.
Liz tells me that she and the publisher are excited about Something Rotten though (and stepping up my revision schedule in the last couple of days, I have to say I am too) and I'm sure that between Dial and the newly renamed "Gratz HQ" (formerly "Samurai HQ") we'll make a little noise.
And I gotta say, I'm having a blast rereading and editing Something Rotten. Is it bad to find your own work really amusing? I mean, I love Samurai Shortstop, and I'm very proud of it, but Horatio makes me laugh, and I delight in rereading it.
Here's hoping I'm not alone!
