500 Posts and a Giveaway - Huzzah!

>> Sunday, February 8, 2009

500 posts - I can't believe it! And I can't believe how long it's taken to get this one post written. The computer has started to spontaneously shut down several times a day - usually when I'm right in the middle of something like this. And last night it started downloading a bunch of old emails that we've already received, dealt with, filed and/or deleted. And when I say "a bunch" I mean over 6000 messages. Fun times! Anyway - to celebrate our big milestone we're giving away a bunch of good stuff. Like . . .

One signed harback copy of each of Alan's books - Samurai Shortstop, Something Rotten, Something Wicked, and Brooklyn Nine (not even released yet but on shelves very soon).

One of my new purses - you choose the color. I have green with mulberry-colored birds

or black with yellow birds.
I also have black with turquoise birds, but no photo of that one because I forgot. Oops. Each purse has one of the facing-front birds and one of the facing-side birds - one on the front and one on the back - but these are not the birds on the final purse design. Those you can see here on my new and improved (but not quite finished) website.

But wait - that's not all! You also get your choice of one of my dolls AND one of my pillows.

Finally - I'll send you one of each of my PDF patterns - Bird Bags, Blockheads, Triangle Toys, and Aprons.

Whew!

So - how do you get all this great loot? Just leave a comment. We'd love to know who you are - so c'mon all you lurkers out there - introduce yourselves! On Wednesday, February 18 we'll draw one winner. We'll send out your prize as soon as Alan's copies of Brooklyn Nine come in. Please make sure to include your contact info in your comment. :-)

Thanks for reading! We're still getting settled into the new house so there will be lots more photos soon. And I still need to update the final results of The Great Picture Book Culling. Jo ended up reading 77 books for her Read-a-thon, but her final choices (she packed her own bag for the trip to the beach) were . . . uninspiring. I've got a stack of good books to write about soon, but I need to wait until our computer issues are resolved before I can do anything that involves a lot of pictures.

I'd like to enter!

Also, I'm glad to hear Jo finished with such an impressive number! I agreed to sponsor her in the comments a while back, and I'll be happy to send her the money she's earned as soon as I know where to send it.

For both, my e-mail address is scottique@gmail.com. Those bags are SO CUTE--I completely covet them. :-D

Cheers,
Christin

Congratulations on 500 posts! I hope your computer starts behaving a little better (mine does approximately the opposite thing - I always have to shut it down twice before it actually stops).

Count me in for the giveaway! I got hooked on your blog when you did the Project Runway doll challenges, and can't seem to shake the habit :) Am especially excited about the chance to win a bag and a pillow - they're gorgeous!

Here's my entry comment. :)

I also agreed to sponsor Jo, just let me know how to get you the money! Great job on 77 books, I can't wait to see the whole list. We just got Henry Hikes to Fitchburg from the library and I think I love it more than my daughter does (and she does).

Congratulations on the posts, the books AND the house! What a busy time.

500 posts is something to be proud of! Just started following your blog--found it because I got to read Something Rotten for the Missouri Gateway Award consideration. Have read Something Wicked for the next round. Well done.

I'd love to enter. I started reading you guys when you were doing the Project Runway predictions, and stuck around for lots of reasons (plus I'm starting to sew and quilt now too).

Ooooh, cute purses! Alan's books aren't bad, but accessories... now that's the way to a girl's heart!

(Just kidding Alan, love your books, too!)

You said Wednesday, but you didn't say what time! I met Alan in Shreveport a few weeks ago and had a blast - I've been reading your blog since then and enjoying it. I've got the books (signed, even!) but your bags are amazing!
