Jo's first day back at school . . . wasn't. We had a couple of inches of accumulation over the last couple of days, and Jo got her first snow day of the year. This morning we got out and played in it some, building a weak attempt at a snowman. (The snow wasn't really right for it.) After we'd given it arms, eyes, and a nose, Jo said we should make it into an alien. That's my girl! So we found a couple of sticks and gave him Greedo antennae. Kind of.
Keeping with the Star Wars theme, we pulled Jo's little action figures out and recreated some of our favorite scenes from The Empire Strikes Back. Jo's just watched the original three movies for the first time, and we've been playing Lego Star Wars II pretty much nonstop for three months. We had a lot of fun setting up the shots. Enjoy!
"Echo Three to Echo Seven. I finished my circle. I don't pick up any life readings. There's a meteorite that hit the ground near here. I want to check it out. It won't take long." "What's the matter girl, you smell something?" "Roooooaaaaaar!" "Ungh. I feel like a popsicle." "Wait - what's that?" "Wampa!"
"Luke . . . Luke."
"You will go to the Dagobah system. There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me. You know, except for Qui-Gon. But we'll just retcon that." "Hang on, kid. This may smell bad, but it'll keep you warm." "Whew. And I thought they smelled bad on the outside." "Afraid there's not much left. Droid of some kind. Didn't hit it that hard. It must have had a self-destruct." "Imperial probe droid. It's a good bet the Empire knows we're here . . ."
Too bad we don't have any AT-ATs or Speeders to scale! The probe droid is ashes from the fireplace, but I didn't think to have Tauntaun's guts until we came inside. Jo's macaroni leftovers would have been great! I also should have gotten a pic of Han on the tauntaun for the obligatory "Your tauntaun'll freeze before you reach the first marker." "Then I'll see you in hell!"
Maybe next snow . . .
