We're big fans of Mad Men on AMC here at Gratz Industries. We're currently watching Season Two on DVD from Netflix and enjoying the heck out of it, but Season Three will soon be debuting for all those folks who pay $65.00 (or more) per month for the privilege of watching first-run shows. To celebrate the new season, AMC has a nifty little "paper doll" dress-up game that lets you create your own Mad Men character. Here's our versions of ourselves, circa 1961. Apparently, I have more hair in the 1960s. And smoke a pipe. And Wendi wears fur and drinks martinis. What can I say, the 1960s were heady times, sweetheart!Tuesday, July 28, 2009
Mad Men Yourself

I don't have cable - bought the iTunes season pass (around $35) because I AM IMPATIENT
ReplyDeleteWe've bought shows before as well. Last season, I think we paid around $2 an episode to watch Top Chef on Amazon. Part of the problem was, there was no place to watch it for free online. Another part of the problem: they haven't been putting those out on DVD, for some odd reason. So we paid to watch them, and can now go back and watch them any time we want on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteWe're not opposed to paying for shows we like. We would much prefer to pay a la carte for TV than to pay one ginormous flat fee for a few shows we want and lots more programming we're not interested in. For most things that will come out on DVD though, we're willing to wait. We certainly have plenty more things in our queue to watch in the meantime!
